PTNPA was held on Coronado Island in California this year. There was a great turnout with a wide variety of commodities represented. I met with suppliers from all over the world, as well as here in the USA. The sentiment was surprisingly similar between all I heard from: Costs are up, inflation is up, transportation cost is up and pricing of the commodity they are selling is at a historic low. Frustration and a desire to know what is next prevailed. Interestingly, labor was an issue for suppliers, regardless of the country of origin. All were hopeful that retailers would sooner than later pass the savings on to the customers and give a much needed bump to consumption.
